CALNE cops arrived at work this morning to find vandals had smashed up three of their police cars.

Police arrested two men just hours later for smashing the windows to their police cars overnight yesterday.

Officers are appealing for witnesses who saw any suspicious activity between 11pm and 4am this morning.

Sargeant Phil Connors of Calne Police said: "We take any reports of criminal damage very seriously and this type of behaviour will not be tolerated.

"People who commit this type of offence will be caught and taken to court."

Contact Calne Police on 0845 408 7000 with any information.

Out on patrol, being sent to the endless number of dysfunctional families who think we can sort their problems out.
Oh, yeh. Just like any member of the public, I am sure there was a crime number for the damage!!

you lot really do amuse me i had my car window smashed and you didn't even bother to come out i told you who done it so the your work was already half done the trouble is some known names in calne seem to get away with everything and as for dysfunctional families who do you think you are if you dont like your job maybe you should consider changeing it

I had my tyres slashed.
I called the police and told them who did it but they said because THEY didn't see it there was nothing they could do about it.
Shamefull!
If I saw someone slashing their tyres or smashing their windows I wouldn't call them....

"Dysfunctional families", Oh dear, appears to be words that has hit a raw nerve with (mind your own, calne).
Perhaps a little close to home.
Anyway, whilst this is a rather humorous story " Cop Cars trashed" and of course the inevitable criticism of the Police ( I know, we can,t win, no point in event trying to defend anything we do).
But, perhaps a small point is being missed.
I am sure the Officers who turned up for work were horrified to see their spectacular Ford Focus and Honda CRvs TRASHED, I mean, that will teach them, they will think twice now before they dare arrest some Yob( Hmm, !!!).
Or perhaps, the only thing that worried them, is the fact ( like all tax payers) It will be ALL OF US TAX PAYERS who will be paying to have the damage repaired.

( This sort of thing falls well below the excess on insurance of the Wiltshire Police)
Or perhaps those responsible will be brought to justice and the Jolly Old Courts will make them pay ( Naa, The Magistrate would have to have some Dysfunctional delusions, to impose a fine on the Misunderstoods!!!!)

From reading this, I must ask if you are happy in your work? It certainly doesn't sound as though you are getting much in the way of job satisfaction. Perhaps just waiting for the pension, or promotion to Inspector Corner of the Yard ?

let me tell you i am quite happy with my family and we are far from dysfunctional my two teenage sons both left school and have worked hard scince and my two younger children are fairly well behaved not angles but they know right from wrong and if you were out on call to such bad familys how come when you turned up to work you found they had been smashed get it it write you cant have it all and also mabe if everyone applyed to the council for a refund of there council tax you might end up having to take notice of the reports being made i mean how much of our bills are for the police to do nothing ???

At least the police have the means to get all thier cars repaired, as a rescent victim of car crime (paint stripper poured all over my car) I have to now live with my car looking like this until i can repair it all myself. I cannot work due to ill health so can only insure my car 3rd party. Yes i got a crime number and a week later a visit lucky me. Had the police come out straight away they may have been able to retrieve some evidence that was left on the car however a week later when they did eventually arrive the evidence had all been washed away. Wonder how long it took for SOC to look at thier cars!!!!
